The Italian Diabetes Cookbook: Delicious and Healthful dishes from Venice to Sicily and Beyond

$18.95

This was my second diabetes-friendly cookbook, also dedicated to my mother. I wrote it because I know first-hand, how healthful Italian food can be. The 150 easy-to-prepare recipes in this book are based on family recipes that I used to make to meet my mom’s eating plan while satisfying the whole family. It’s also enriched with additional recipes from each of Italy’s 20 regions, and ones that I learned from friends and colleagues.

Many people think that Italian food (which is often poorly interpreted outside of Italy) is off-limits for people with diabetes. In this volume I proved that Italian dishes can be both healthful and tasty. Whether you’re in the mood for authentic Italian food or an updated classic, the wholesome, satisfying recipes in this book are ones that you’ll be able to serve to family and friends as well. I’ve included sample menus, tips on how to properly plan an Italian meal, and have even organized the book in Italian meal courses to make serving easier.

I also included Italian Living Traditions with each recipe so that readers could learn more about the way in which recipes fit into the Italian lifestyle. My favorite feedback from readers so far is that “these recipes taste so good that you forget that you’re on a diet.”
